VAX Corner

The program for transferring an EMME/2 plotfile to a dot matrix printer (GPR) is now available on the VAX but is limited to printers using an 8 bit interface. This limitation should not cause any problems since the printer and its port can be configured for 8 bits. The program to transfer a plot file to a plotter (GPL) will be available in September 1987.

GPR is a graphic utility that allows plot files using the Tektronix 4014 protocol to be transformed into EPSON compatible dot matrix bitmaps. The program supports multi-page input files, single or double dot density, a wide variety of output formats, different printer models and offers the possibility of user customization. GPR is especially suited to the generation of low cost - high quality hardcopy output from EMME/2 plot files.

GPL is a graphic utility that allows plot files using the Tektronix 4014 (color extended) protocol to be transformed into vector plotter command files. The program features multi-page input files, manual or automatic paper feed, manual or automatic pen change and possibility of user customizing for virtually any vector plotter available. GPL is especially suited for routing EMME/2 plot files to an attached drum or table plotter.
